REQUIREMENTS FOR WAX UP DESIGNS

Smile Design

  • Are the restorations going to be crowns or veneers?

  • Can the original scan (teeth) be reduced for the wax up?

  • Is there going to be crown lengthening?

  • Is the vertical dimension of occlusion (VDO) going to be raised? If so, how much.

What does each colour mean?

SMILE DESIGN WORKFLOW

Visit 1

You will take upper and lower scans, bite scans in occlusion and photos following our protocol. That's the moment to talk to your patient about expectations.

Send all files and important information for the lab to start the smile design.

Note: If any extractions were done before the Smile Design, the lab needs a pre operation scan too.

Between Visits:
1. With the design finished, we'll send you a HTML file for approval.
2. If you have any requests for changes or adjustments, the lab will do it and re-send the HTML file until it's approved.
3. Then, the lab will print a 3D model of the wax-up design and send it to you.

Note: HTML file is a file for 3D visualisation of the case that you can open using any internet browser like Google Chrome, Safari or Firefox.

Visit 2

Try-in of the wax up design using bis-acrylic composite (Luxatemp or similar). You should check the shape, size and bite.

Need Adjustments?

If there's any need for adjustments, take new upper, lower and bite scans after making the changes in the mouth and send it to us.

Pictures Protocol
